The Story

In August 2023, a routine school commute in northern Pakistan turned terrifying when two cables snapped, leaving eight passengers—including six schoolboys—suspended 900 feet above a ravine as rescuers raced to save them.


Directed by Mohammed Ali Naqvi, Hanging by a Wire premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and has been selected by acclaimed film festivals around the world, including Tribeca, Seattle and Sydney.


The film is now reaching more than 30 cities across North America and more than 30 cities across the UK and Ireland, including week-long cinema runs. Its initial New York run was extended into a second week after strong community partnerships helped bring audiences to the theater. The film will premiere on Paramount+ on October 28.
